The car failed the MOT on the light adjustment and after having a little fiddle about and reading some forum,s it turns out there is a problem with the Fiat lights that when they get ol,d the little plastic socket on the top adjuster, just fall apart and that is exactly what had happened to both of mine. So even if you do adjust them, by the time you get to the garage they will have moved again and gone out of alignment, and although i could have tweaked them when i left it for the MOT its not ideal if they keep going out of alignment as you would never get a decent beam when driving at night.

So time for some new light. BUT its not that easy on these Fiats! I wanted to get the original CARELLO ones that they come with but that is almost impossible as you cant get UK ones new anymore and if i did get them from Italy at £60 each + £50 delivery they would still be left hand ones 🙁

So i needed a plan, i could get the DEPO ones for £36 but they still seemed to be left-hand drive. So a bit of reading up and it looked like it was the glass that was the main difference between LHD and RHD and as the glass in mine were a little loose anyway, that i would heat up and remove the glass from the old ones and fit the glass to the new DEPO lights!!

The DEPO lights fit perfectly and i have used them on my OPEL so i knmwo the quality is good.

I bought some Sikaflex 555 sealant, which they recommended for lights, removed the glass carefully from the DEPO oes and fitted my CARELLO glass. So now original looking lights with all nice new adjusters and reflectors, perfect.

Now all fitted and looking pretty good. And the adjustment looks good. I now just need to run up to the garage and get them properly setup!
